This collection consists of original diaries and photo albums, as well as typed transcripts of each diary compiled by Jeanne Freeman. The two physical diaries included in this collection are from 1908-1910 and 1911. The years 1908 to 1910 are written in the same red leather-bound diary. The 1911 diary is a smaller, cloth-bound diary with “Memorandum” printed on the front. The 1912 diary is only available as a transcript. There are three photo albums as well as two folders of loose photographs. Also included in the collection is a program from Edwards graduation in 1909, an autograph album from 1905, a fishing hook, and two hunting licenses.This collection consists of diaries, photographs, and ephemera owned by Edward Prince. The first diary is a red leather-bound notebook where Edward writes about the years 1908 to 1909, as well as his bookkeeping for 1910. The second diary contains his writing for the year 1911. Transcripts of the diaries are included, as well as the transcript for his 1912 diary, not included physically in the collection. The collection also contains three photo albums of unknown dates. Two of the albums are missing the covers, and one is in poor condition. The photos mostly consist of landscapes and portraits of Edward and his friends and family. There are many loose photographs also included in the collection that range many years, up until the 1930’s. There are also three school photographs of Edward and his classmates at Boulder Creek Grammar School. Edward spent much of his childhood in Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz, and other towns around California where his diary and photographs are taken. Ephemera included in the collection are an autograph book from Edwards classmates and family in 1905, two hunting licences, the program for his graduation from Boulder Creek Grammar School, and a letter of recommendation from the J. G. Tanner Drugstore from 1911.
