Back to ArchivesMarie Scott Alaska Photo Album Collection
Collection Number: 89.46.1
This collection contains an approximately 16×13” scrapbook containing some beautiful and intriguing photos taken during Marie Scott’s trip to Alaska in 1945 where she sketched and did watercolors. These photos are in excellent condition and capture an arresting portrait of life in rural Alaska during that time. The album includes photos of totem poles, members of Alaskan native tribes, and photos of towns and settlements in Alaska, in the area of Skagway, Alaska. This collection is good for people interested in early Alaskan settlements, and in landscape and scenic photography.
