This collection contains family memorabilia of the Conklin Family. The collection contains many studio photographs in cardboard frame, folders, or embossed envelopes. The photos are primarily of the Conklin family, relatives and family friends from Sacramento, CA and Wisconsin. The studio portraits represent a variety of photographic studios dating from the mid-1890’s such as Baldwin Studios of Sacramento, CA; Andrew Price of Colusa, CA; and Goodman of Whitewater, Wisconsin to name a few. Also in the collection are printed items such as a recipes, newspapers and wedding invitations. The collection was donated to the Museum of Art and History, Santa Cruz by Harold Van Gorder, although it is not certain in what year the donation was given. The memorabilia in the collection covers a wide date range from about 1893-1953.
